CAM News & Updates
CAM National Office on reduced service in April

The National Office will be operating on reduced service from April 4 – 26, while Marian takes her well-deserved vacation and Nancy is away at meetings.  We won’t have phone coverage but we will be checking email messages from time to time.

President's Message

I’m often asked “what makes a CAM member different?” In so many ways, that answer is obvious – our members, as you know, agree to a higher standard code of ethics. We expect our members to act with fairness and honesty to clients, by not only honouring the terms of the contract but by providing efficient, reliable, high-quality service. Each of our Certified Professional Movers agrees to deliver a moving service that is fair in practice and cost, and certainly professional and safe.

But what happens when you know you can’t provide that standard of service because you’ve had a request for a previously-reserved date, or you’ve suddenly found yourself swamped with last minute government orders and you need to sub out your currently booked civilian moves because you won’t have the equipment or manpower to do the job? Do you go rent trucks and hire day labourers or do you get another moving company to do the job for you?

CAM Code of Ethics for Movers

CAM’s Board of Directors has recently revised the Movers Code of Ethics to include a crucial new element that must be adhered to in order to safeguard the reputation of CAM and its members.

CAM members are asked to please follow this direction:

When referring a lead from CAM, use an accredited CAM member for all origin and destination services and, if unable to use an accredited CAM member, advise the customer that their household goods and personal effects are being moved by a company that is not a CAM-accredited member and therefore not subject to CAM’s operating standards and practices.

Would you like a CAM 50th logo?

cam5_22012019.jpgCAM is marking the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of our Association back in June 1969.  We have a commemorative logo in both English and French and welcome you to use it on your sales and marketing materials, and on your social media and websites.  We think that it’s important for you to identify that you are a CAM member as it associates you with the higher standard of professionalism that CAM is known for.  Having the 50th Anniversary logo next to your logo provides a subtle reminder that CAM has been around for long enough for its brand to not only be well-established but also well-regarded.  Of course, many of you have been around longer and it never hurts to tell your potential clients how long that’s been too.  If you’d like a 50th logo, you can contact the office at

CAM EN2_03132019.pngFriday the 13th … how superstitious are you???

Lucky Charms – no not the cereal – the other kinds.  How many can you think of?  Horseshoes turned up to make a U, finding a face up coin on the street, four leaf clovers… the list goes on and on.

The real question is – how many of these charms are going to be included in your golf game on Friday, September 13th at Royal Niagara Golf Course?  We’ve seen some of you golf and KNOW that you need all the luck you can get.

We hope you'll join us for a fun day. Register early for a chance to win an additional foursome to golf with you. To find out more about registering, becoming a hole sponsor or providing prizes, click here.
