ECAO Scholarship – Nominate a Student Today

In recognition of the importance of education and having post-secondary graduates enter into the construction industry, ECAO established a Scholarship Program in 2004. The program provides children of ECAO members financial support for students attending post-secondary institutions.

2018 Safety Awards Call for Nominations Now Open! We want to Hear Your Story This Year! 

Have you encountered electrical safety hazards or identified safety issues that, if not addressed, could have posed a serious threat to a homeowner, a family, or the community? Or perhaps you or someone you know has created an initiative or program that helps keep people safe from electrical harm.

If you have a story to tell, ESA wants to hear from you! We want to celebrate and recognize your contributions to making Ontario a safer place to live, work and play – whether it’s through electrical safety programs, initiatives or efforts, in the workplace or in the community.

Submissions are accepted from February 1 – May 25, 2018 in the following three categories:

The awards will be handed out at a celebration in Mississauga on Sept. 27, 2018.

Ontario helping to raise awareness of workplace rights and responsibilities

Ontario is supporting workers and businesses by investing in educational and training initiatives that will help them understand their workplace rights and responsibilities. Non-profit organizations can now apply for the 2018-2019 Employment Standards Training and Education Program. The program helps non-profit organizations educate vulnerable workers and small- and mid-sized businesses on their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.


IHSA Falls Awareness Campaign May 7-11, 2018

That’s why IHSA is hoping its member firms and other groups will participate in this year’s Keep Your Promise–Do Your Part campaign. While this is an ongoing longer-term campaign, a Falls Awareness Week will also take place from May 7-11, 2018. This is Ontario’s first week-long awareness campaign to bring attention to falls in construction.

The purpose of this campaign is to remind workplace parties, employers, and workers of the importance of their roles in preventing workplace injuries and fatalities stemming from working at heights. Falls Awareness Week is a voluntary opportunity for employers and workers to start a discussion by having a safety talk around fall hazards on the worksite.

Construction Design Alliance of Ontario CDAO Members’ Event Construction Lien Act/Bill 142 - Save the Date - May 14, 2018

The (CDAO) is organizing a half-day session for CDAO member associations on the Construction Lien Act/Bill 142.

It will be held at Eagles Nest Golf Course (10000 Dufferin St., Box 403, Maple, ON L6A 1S3) on May 14, 2018. Start time will be approximately 8:30 a.m. and will cost approximately $40 to $50 per person. The session will run until about noon.
