Employees misjudge top office areas for germs

Flu season is now underway in Canada and generally lasts till March. As a result, sick days and lost productivity put a damper on business, or worse. Last flu season, Canada recorded 5365 hospitalizations and 270 deaths, while the season before that exceeded any previous influenza season, with a considerable number of hospitalizations, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada. 

UCalgary’s green cleaning program achieves honours in industry certification

The University of Calgary recently became only the second university in Canada to be awarded a unique green cleaning professional designation. The Cleaning Industry Management Standard Green Building certification is offered by ISSA, the leading trade association for the cleaning industry worldwide, and will allow the university to automatically secure maximum points for green cleaning when registering for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
