President's Message

CAM-March5-image1.jpg

A couple of weeks ago, we received a thank you from a long-time member who appreciated finding information on our website that they could use to counter a heckler on Twitter. The tweet was “do you hold movers items hostage in trucks and then ask for more money? seems how most do it today?”. Certainly, we were pleased to know that the response they were able to give to this tweet was based on consumer advice that we have readily available on our website.

But that got me to thinking … if you are having challenges with your social media or with negative reviews and need some help, feel free to reach out. If we don’t have materials to share for your particular situation, we can certainly help you with your response.

We are going ahead again this year, collaborating with the Better Business Bureaus in Canada, on “May is Moving Month” and spreading the word, as we do regularly each month, about the “4 Basic Principles of Moving” and the “5 Checks For Choosing A Mover.” These graphics are available to you free of charge and many of your fellow CAM members use them regularly on their social media. You can contact us if you’d like us to send them to you.

Many of our members are fortunate to have well-developed marketing campaigns and consumer information. For those of you who don’t, I plan to have some consumer info sheets ready soon. They’ll be available for consumers online and certainly free for your use as well. And don’t forget our brochure “Choosing A Mover … Who Can You Trust?” Those are available from our National Office in French and English.

We’re here to help you land that move. We’d rather see consumers choosing a CAM member from the beginning, than hear from them afterwards about their disastrous move with a less-than-professional operation.

Conference Sponsorship opportunities now available

CAM is pleased to, once again, provide our new sponsorship package to our supporters – building on the success of the format from our 2018 Annual Conference.

Our Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsors all received regular, consistent exposure through CAM. In addition, those sponsors who fully engaged with the opportunity also received widespread branding, with specialized posts of their own design, on CAM’s various social media platforms.

CAM was thrilled with the new format and the positive engagement from our sponsors. We are encouraged with the support of our partners and recognize that their commitment to our Association was a major reason why the 2018 conference was such a huge success.

Opportunities for sponsorship in 2019 are now available and we encourage you to have a look at this year’s package. To add to the fun, many sponsors have added a ‘combo’ to their sponsorship. What’s that? You’ll have to look at the 2019 package to find out.

Friday the 13th … how superstitious are you???

Yes, there’s still snow on the ground, but we’re looking forward to hitting the links! CAM's September 13 Golf Day sponsorship and registration packages are now available. Register early for a chance to win an additional foursome to golf with you. We’re teeing off a little earlier in the day in Niagara-on-the-Lake this September. We had a lot of fun last year. This year? Well, it’s going to be a day full of good luck charms. To find out more about becoming a hole sponsor or providing prizes and registering for the golf day click here.

50s Flashback

Thanks to those of you who’ve responded to our shout out for your pictures and stories about CAM from “the old days”.

What stories do you know about your parents’ or grandparents’ involvement with CAM over the years?  We'd love to hear them and share with our members.  Please share them with Marian or Nancy. It's time to reflect back and celebrate!
