Masks will be mandatory in health clinics, hospitals across N.W.T.

The N.W.T. Health and Social Services Authorities say "continuous masking" is coming to all its offices and facilities across the territory, which include health clinics and hospitals. In a press release Thursday, the authorities said the new requirements will go into effect Sept. 14, but they're encouraging the public to start wearing masks in offices and facilities immediately.

Mitigation underway after high concentrations of lead found in Peace Arch Hospital water
SURREY-NOW LEADER

Mitigation efforts are underway at Peace Arch Hospital after high concentrations of lead were discovered in the building’s water supply. Fraser Health told Peace Arch News via email last week that the risk to health is low, and that repeated testing confirm that the building’s ice and water machines are safe water sources for staff and patients to use.

$377 million Dawson Creek hospital plans approved

Study lists 200 problems in design and construction of Saskatchewan Hospital

The provincial government has released a report detailing a list of 200 problems with construction of the new Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford. The problems include the design failing to account for suicide prevention, some of the doors not meeting fire code and a mysterious foul odour coming from the floor.

New addictions and mental health unit, specialized staff promised for HSC

A new unit for patients who are intoxicated, going through withdrawal or in mental health crises is coming to the emergency department at Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre, the province announced Wednesday. The province is spending $3.5 million to add staff trained in addictions and mental health care and hopes to open the unit by November, Health Minister Cameron Friesen said.
